Telem Events 2014
On Saturday, November, 22, 2014, Telem held it’s third annual dance party at Aloft Hotel Harlem to celebrate another year of accomplishments and to raise funds for Telem programs. DJ VPNW kept the party going with a mix of Afrobeat and Salsa sounds. Dance performances by salsa troupe Elegancia and TNT were explosive. Thanks to all our guests and supporters who came to party for a great cause. See what happened here.
On Sunday November 16, 2014, a group of Telem teens and three chaperones volunteered at a nursing home and rehabilitation center in Upper Manhattan. The volunteers led a rousing bingo game, helped to transport clients with mobility challenges, participated in a concert and created crafts to provide cheer for the elderly residents. We are proud of our teens for taking the time out to give back to the community in this very tangible manner, providing companionship and support for the elders during recreational activities. See what happened here.
On March Sunday, October 19th, 2014 Telem marched at the African Day Parade in Harlem. With our faces painted and fortified by hot chocolate, Telem came out to demonstrate our African pride and share INFORMATION not sensationalism about Ebola. See what went down here.
